London Callin' Records recently published a tome to commemorate the much-missed 12 Bar Club and are releasing twelve 7 inch vinyl EPs to tie in with it. The next (ninth) in the series celebrates the Blang nights we put on there for ten years. The record features four acts who regularly played there, namely David Cronenberg's Wife, Sergeant Buzfuz, The Awkward Silences and Slate Islands.

David Cronenberg's Wife pay tribute to Jack Medley's Secure Men with their driving version of the timeless Lose It. Sergeant Buzfuz turn the pop dial to 11 with the trumpet-laced Down With The Creeps. Slate Islands conjure supernatural flute-and-voice drone-folk minimalism with the spine -tingling Diamonds. The Awkward Silences hoist up the anchor with slacker protest shanty The Pirate Code featuring a motley cast of Blang musicians shouting along on deck. A varied collection recorded in one day and mixed in another. Four bangers served on 300 copies of limited edition mustard coloured vinyl.
